Owner and Stylist

To say I love my job is an understatement! Working in the beauty industry is rewarding in so many ways. I love listening and forming a bond with each client that sits in my chair, along with putting a smile on their face, while doing what I love. I have been in the beauty industry for 24yrs and 19yrs with Laurel Hill Salon. I have had the honor to work beside an amazing group of talented stylists throughout my years at LHS, we are not just coworkers we are family! Last October I fulfilled a dream of mine by becoming the new owner of LHS. What an honor and blessing it has been to not only own a Salon, but the one I work at that has molded me and brought me immense joy for years. Our ultimate focus at LHS will never change, we are here to bring you the elements essential to making your Salon experience a memorable one, along with providing you the best possible service. Our goal at LHS is to be a team of professional stylist who care.

I love working in this industry for so many reasons. Who else gets to come to work and make someone feel beautiful? I have been in this industry for 35 years and cannot imagine my life without all my special clients. I strive to always be my best and believe that continuing education is especially important. I specialize in contemporary color, cutting and styling. I have been at Laurel Hill Salon for over 10 years and work with some of the most talented ladies in the Roanoke Valley. I look forward to having you in my chair and making you feel beautiful.

Debbie Harris

Stylist

It has been my privilege to be a part of Laurel Hill Salon since the doors opened 22 years ago. With a total of 32 years in the industry, my experience has brought me an understanding of current trends while respecting classic styles. I was blessed to receive training at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in California and have enjoyed continuing education throughout my career. As a curly girl myself, I have a passion to help others learn to manage and love their curls. My goal is that each of my clients feel special and know that I care about them and the relationship we have built over the years. God has been so good to me to have the opportunity to do what I love as my job.

Erin Lafoon

Stylist

I have been a licensed hairstylist since March of 1996. Even as a little girl I dreamed of doing hair. I was the go-to in high school for cutting, coloring and proms updo in my friends’ basements. I have worked in a salon since I was 15 years old and while I was in high school, I took Cosmetology through a vocational school. This allowed me to receive my licenses when I graduated at 18. I have worked in three other salons, but in September of 1999 I came to work for Laurel Hill and was reconnected with many of my past stylist friends that have helped to get me where I am today. 25 years in this industry I still look forward to my job, it allows me to be creative, meet amazing people, and make a positive difference.

Mary Margaret Isbell

Stylist

I've been a hairstylist for 31 years with 26 of those living in the Roanoke Valley. I attended Cosmetology school at the Horst Education Center (Aveda Institute), and graduated from Mary Baldwin University. I've worked at Laurel Hill Salon for 9 years.
In the salon I specialize in personalized hair color and precision cutting with an emphasis on professional styles. I also enjoy family haircare and cherish the long-term relationships I've developed with many area families. I want each person that sits in my chair to feel special, understood, and taken care of. I think that the perfect salon experience should be equally skill-based and personally refreshing.

Becoming a hairstylist is something I have always dreamed about doing. I made that dream a reality in high school and started working at LHS as an assistant while going through cosmetology school. I was blessed with the opportunity to gain experience from the amazing group of ladies that make up this salon. I have been in the industry a total of 10 years and I have spent a collective 6 years at Laurel Hill Salon working alongside some of the best in the industry and I am so lucky to be able to call them my dear friends. The relationships I have built with my clients is one I am so thankful for, and I love seeing their face light up when they see the finished product. My specialties are blonding, balayage, and corrective coloring. I am so fortunate to be a part of Laurel Hill Salon.

I have been with Laurel Hill Salon for 13 years. I started at Laurel Hill Salon as an Operations Assistant and soon fell in love with the industry. 10 years ago, I took the leap and became an apprentice at LHS. I love being a stylist, learning new things, continuing my education and skill development. I specialize in precision haircuts, color, updos and enjoy working with families. I also, take immense pleasure in making sure the Salon is well kept, while making all clients feel cared for and welcomed. Now excepting new clients, reach out to me to set a date and time.

LaTara Noriega

Stylist

I have been with Laurel Hill Salon off and on for 18 years. I started as an assistant in 2005 while attending Arnold R. Burton for Cosmetology. I graduated from Cave Spring High School with my Cosmetology license in 2007 where I became a stylist at LHS. I took a hiatus for 8 years where I honorably served in the Marine Corps. While I was in the service, I made sure to stay firsthand in the industry, where I did a lot of military hair. Now that I am home, my passion to be a stylist has always remained. I love how we can be creative, and through that seeing how a fresh style can enhance the appearance and the client’s overall mood. I love being able to get to know the new clients and seeing those from years past. I am eager to start this new chapter, while continuing to grow and learn new techniques. I am honored to be among such experienced stylists, that I call family.
